The short version. This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising. It counts page views and link clicks in aggregate, without cookies and without working out who you are. The only personal information it collects is what you type into the contact form yourself.

Who is responsible

This site is operated by Aaron Frost, trading as Sigma Labs, the developer of MOGGED: Looksmaxxing Simulator. Sigma Labs is a trading name rather than a registered company, so the data controller is Aaron Frost personally.

The way to reach the controller about anything on this page is the contact form. If you need a postal address for a formal data request, ask through the form and it will be provided to you directly.

What is collected, and when

If you use the contact form

You choose to give us a name (optional), an email address, and a message. We use them for exactly one purpose: to read your message and reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your address for anything else.

Your message is delivered two ways: by email to us, and as a notification in a private Discord channel that only we can read. Both contain the same thing, which is what you typed.

To stop the form being abused to flood that channel, the number of submissions from your IP address is counted for five minutes and then discarded. The address itself is not stored with your message and is not used for anything else.

If you just read the site

The site is static, has no database and no accounts, and stores nothing about you personally. Two things are counted, both in aggregate:

Page views. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it does not store anything in your browser, does not fingerprint your device, and cannot follow you to other websites. It reports totals such as how many people visited a page and which site they arrived from. There is no way for us to single you out in it, which is also why you are not asked to accept cookies.

Link clicks. When you press an outbound link, such as Wishlist on Steam or one of the social buttons, the site adds one to a counter for that link. The counter records the link and the date, and nothing else. No identifier, no address, nothing tied to you.

Why we are allowed to do this

Data protection law requires us to name a lawful basis for each thing we do. There are two, and neither relies on your consent, because neither needs it.

Your contact message: legitimate interests. You chose to write to us and asked for a reply. Reading the message and answering it is the obvious and expected use, it is the only use, and it cannot reasonably be against your interests. If you would rather we had not kept it, say so and we will delete it.

Page views and link clicks: legitimate interests. We have an interest in knowing whether anyone visits the site and whether the Wishlist button gets pressed. The counting is aggregate and cookieless, it cannot identify you, and it stores nothing on your device. That is also why you are not asked to consent: there is no tracking to consent to.

Who else receives data

Three companies are involved in running this site. Each has its own privacy policy.

Where your data goes

All three of those companies are based in the United States, so if you are reading this from the UK or the EU, your data leaves your country when it reaches them. That is a normal part of using the internet, but the law expects us to tell you rather than leave you to work it out.

Each of them handles the legal side themselves through the mechanisms available for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses and, where they participate, the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework. Their own privacy policies, linked above, set out what they rely on. We are a one person operation and we chose them partly because they take that responsibility on.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. The analytics it uses are cookieless and cannot identify you or follow you across sites. There is no advertising, no tracking pixels and no data sold to anyone. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

Links to other places

The site links out to Steam, Discord, X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Following any of those links takes you onto their platform, where their own privacy policies apply and we have no control or visibility.

How long things are kept

Contact messages stay in our email inbox for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare on their own retention schedule.

The link click counters hold only a link name, a date and a number. They delete themselves automatically after 90 days. Nothing in them relates to a person, so there is nothing in them to identify or remove.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, the EU, or another region with similar law, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how it is used, to have its use restricted while a question is sorted out, and to receive it in a portable form you can take elsewhere. In practice, for this site, all of that means the contents of any message you have sent us.

You can also object at any time to processing we base on legitimate interests, which is both of the things listed above. There is no automated decision making or profiling on this site.

To make any of those requests, use the contact form and say what you want. We will reply to the address you give. There is no charge, and we will not ask you to justify the request.

If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

MOGGED is a horror game intended for adults, and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no separate archive, so the version you are reading is the current one.
